MISSION STATEMENT
Recognizing a need to stimulate and develop a cadre of researchers who will contribute to the advancement of nursing and dental hygiene science in the areas of research on Asian and Pacific Islanders. The Office of Research and Extramural Programming (OREP) was established to:
- Promote standards for the conduct of research
- Support academic research activities for faculty and students
- Advance collaborative research activities between the School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene and strategic partners
- Create a repository of scholarship and research activities
VISION
OREP's vision is to stimulate and develop a cadre of researchers who will contribute to the advancement of nursing and dental hygiene science to improve the health of the diverse population in Hawaii, the Pacific Basin and Asia.

Seed Grants
We also offer seed grants designed to stimulate research by giving new and developing researchers experience in developing proposals and designing and managing pilot projects that will lead to extramural funding. Seed grants will be awarded annually by the OREP. Please check for an announcement for a request for proposals to apply for a seed grant.
