Bachelor of Science Degree

The bachelor of science degree prepares beginning-level generalist professional nurses to deliver care to individuals in a variety of health-care settings, meet the state requirements for eligibility to take the National Council Licensure Examination – Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN), and obtain a sound basis for graduate study in nursing. Potential applicants to the program are highly encouraged to attend an informational session provided by the Office of Student Services.

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Nursing Program Pathways

High School Direct Entry in Nursing

For high school graduates.

Fall admission only.

The program is designed for high school graduates who thrive in a setting with guided independent study, professional application, and a collegial relationship with faculty and peer students. With the BS degree, the student is prepared for graduate education and continued career development.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

For current UH and transferring college students without an RN.

Fall admission only.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program admits current Manoa and transfer students. 

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (For ADN Graduates from Consortium)

For ADN graduates from consortium program.

Fall admission only (Maui and Kauai)

Fall and Spring admission (Kapiolani)

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing UH associate degree nursing graduates. It is a statewide continuing consortium nursing curriculum available to UH students from Maui College, Kauaʻi Community College, and Kapiʻolani Community College. The HSNC program is designed to provide an efficient immediate progression to the baccalaureate for the new RN with an associate degree.

Executive RN to BS

For ADN graduates with 2 or more years of RN experience.

Fall admission only with required transition courses in summer prior.

The Executive RN to Bachelor of Science (BS) in Nursing program for practicing RNs complements the statewide nursing consortium curriculum offered to UH students. It is designed to provide a transition to the baccalaureate for the experienced associate degree RN.

RN to BS

For ADN graduates.

Fall admission only. 

The RN to Bachelor of Science (BS) in Nursing program for associate degree nursing (ADN) graduates is a complement to the statewide continuing consortium nursing curriculum offered to UH students. The RN to Bachelor of Science (BS) in Nursing program is designed to provide an efficient bridge to the baccalaureate for the associate degree nurse with less than 2 years RN experience.
