Bachelor of Science in Nursing

For Current UH Manoa Students and Transferring College Students
 

Program Description

This program admits for the fall semester and gives traditional and current veteran students an opportunity for educational advancement. With the BS degree, students are prepared to proceed to graduate education and pursue career development.

The bachelor of science degree prepares beginning-level generalist professional nurses to deliver care to individuals in a variety of health-care settings, meet the state requirements for eligibility to take the National Council Licensure Examination – Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN), and obtain a sound basis for graduate study in nursing. Potential applicants to the program are highly encouraged to attend an open house event or an informational session. Please see the event calendar on the homepage for the upcoming events.

Program Outcomes

The graduate of the BS in Nursing program is prepared to:

  • advocate and provide high quality care to improve and maintain the health of a diverse society
  • direct, supervise and collaborate with others to organize care
  • advance the profession through lifelong learning, participate in professional organizations and practice in a confident, competent, compassionate and accountable manner
  • develop culturally appropriate clinical knowledge by examining, processing and disseminating knowledge to improve and maintain the health of a diverse society.
