Clinical Area of Focus: gerontology, adult health
Nursing career spans 26 years; M.S.N. in Gerontological Nursing from U.C.S.F. in '83 while working in med-surg at Moffit Hospital and U.C. Med Center in S.F.; returned to work in Hawaii in State system for Medicaid waivered programs developing nurse aide/personal care aide training & staff education on elder care/case management, training Adult Residential Care Home Operators & nurse aides in community college and finally, B.S.N. students for past 10 years at U.H. Manoa S.O.N. Also previously employed with private sector in home care as supervisor & with nonprofit as Nurse Aide Evaluator for N.A. certification, as well.
Teaching Topics: Presently teaching at undergraduate level as one of clinical instructors for N475L - Complex Nursing c emphasis on case & quality management; also teaching course on Issues & Trends in Nursing.
