Clinical Area of Focus: oncology
My research focus has been in oncology. Over the past 10 years, I have been involved in a variety of hematological and oncologic clinical studies, ranging from prevention, nutrition, symptom management, and treatment. Currently, I am interested in 1) addressing the effects of androgen deprivation therapy on bone mineral densities in men with prostate cancer, and 2) developing effective, culturally-sensitive interventions that promote awareness and participation in prostate cancer screened among Filipino men.
Teaching Topics: As an educator, I have taught in both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Topics include adult health nursing, pathophysiology and nursing management of hematological and oncologic disorders, nursing administration of chemotherapy and biotherapy, and clinical trials.
