Clinical Area of Focus: population-focused health care, public policy
My interest has been and will continue to be in the area of policy and practice as it relates to nurses adddressing the larger societal issues of poverty and globalization. I have about 20 years of hands-on experience in the political arena and in the area of nursing unionization and professional associations. My vision is to: 1) develop nurse managed centers throughout the islands; 2) provide international learning opportunities to students - particularly to the poorest of the poor, and; 3) to assist nurses in attaining public policy positions at the highest levels to postively affect global poverty and health.
Teaching Topics: I have been teaching community health related courses as well as nursing professional issues and trends.
