Two faculty and three graduate students will be participating in this year’s mission. The primary role of the UHM Nursing team will be to engage in community/public health subject matter expert exchange endeavors which focus on topics such as disaster preparedness, community health, environmental health, prevention and management of communicable and non-communicable diseases. This program provides our faculty and nursing students with valuable experience in global health health nursing, and strengthens our relationship with nursing colleagues in the Asia-Pacific region.

The UHM Nursing team is scheduled to board the USS Pearl Harbor when it arrives in Honolulu on Wednesday, May 20, 2013. The mission will leave Hawaii on May 22; the first port of call will be Samoa. Join us as we follow their progress on this year’s mission!
