UH Manoa Nursing is offering an immersive, simulation based, 8‐week program for the BS RN who is not employed as an RN.  The course focuses on application of assessment skills, diagnostic reasoning, role development, and clinical decision making to manage complex health problems.

Program Highlights:
Simulated Crisis Resource Management, Clinical Skill Refresher, Interprofessional Communication, ACLS Certification, Mock Job Interviews

Who Should Take This Course:
BS prepared RNs seeking to review and update their knowledge and skills to ensure clinical competency and critical thinking skills. This course provides 3 academic credits that can be apppplied to a master’s deggree.  It does not reqquire admission to the graduate program.

Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must have a bachelor of science in nursing and possess a current Hawaii RN license.

Course Dates, Times, and Credits:
Term Dates:  June 5 – July 26, 2013.  Days/Times:  Wednesdays, 8 am – 8pm and four (4) hours facilitated practice  on Tuesday or Thursday from 6/5/13 – 7/23/13. ACLS Certification Certification from from 7/24 7/24‐7/26/13 7/26/13.  NURS NURS 615 615, Clinical Clinical Skills Skills && Procedures Procedures for for Advanced Advanced Practice Nursing, Section 342, CRN # 4337, 3 credits.  Course Faculty: Kevin Matsumoto, RN, MS, and Lorrie Wong, PhD, RN.

Cost:
Graduate nursing tuition cost for residents is $2,289 ($763/per cr.); non‐residents is $4,359 ($1,453/per cr).  Additional cost  of approximately $200 for ACLS Training Manual & Certification Certification.  Tuition info at: http://www.outreach.hawaii.edu/myuh/fees.asp
