The 20th annual Pacific Nursing Research Conference wasa teriffic success with 200 participants from 15 states and 6 different countries. This event is co-sponsored by the Tripler Army Medical Center, the University of Hawai'i at Manoa School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene and TriService Nursing Research Program. This conference is dedicated to sharing nursing research findings and to fostering the utilization of research findings by clinicians.

4 Wonderful Keynote Speakers: Patricia Grady, PhD, RN, FAAN, Director, National Institute for Nursing Research, National Institutes of Health, and Ada Sue Hinshaw, PhD, RN, FAAN, IOM-AAN-ANF, Distinguished Nurse Scholar and Professor, School of Nursing, University of Michigan, both provided the big picture of how nursing research has grown and developed with views of what lies ahead. Pat DeLeon, PhD, JD, Chief of Staff, U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye, Washington, D.C., framed nurses and nursing in Hawaii in a brilliant light giving us direction for the future. COL. Laura Brosch, AN, PhD, Deputy, Office of Research Protections, US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command discussed protection of human rights within the research context, providing insight on how to interpret current standards.
